Why we built it
Balance Point started as eight years of weight spreadsheets. They worked until they didn’t: missing days got filled in by hand and later looked like real readings, and the goal date, calculated from a straight line through last month’s numbers, lurched by months every time a week went sideways.
The app keeps what the spreadsheets did well, a long record and a plan to measure against, and fixes the parts that misled. Gaps stay visible and estimates stay separate from measurements. The forecast is a range, and it shows no date when the data can’t support one.
Where it stops
Balance Point records your data and estimates what it shows. Medical decisions belong with a clinician, and the app gives no diagnosis or dosing advice.
It also leaves some things out on purpose. There are no social features or leaderboards, and it never counts consecutive days. Notices appear only when your data changes.
